St. Croix Local Libations - The Mutiny Vodka Passionfruit Pleaser
Our travels to St. Croix last month lead us directly to the local libations! It's hard to not stumble across Mutiny Island Vodka when strolling around St. Croix. It's the world's first and only vodka made from breadfruit! 🥖 🍉

The chef-owner of popular Christiansted restaurants such as Toast, 40 Strand and others believes success begins with ingredients. So when looking for a way to give back to his adopted home of St. Croix, he looked for the special key ingredient. And he found breadfruit, an ingredient true to the island and with a rich heritage behind it, thus began his fascination with its richness, history and versatility.
Breadfruit is a tree of the mulberry family and its large fruits are a staple food of the South Pacific and other tropical areas. Breadfruit contains considerable amounts of starch. It can be eaten raw but is more often roasted, baked, boiled, fried, or dried and ground into flour. The white flesh has a bread-like texture and a flavor that has been compared to an artichoke or chestnut
Mutiny's mission to high light this fruit is a true ode to island love. And even better yet - Mutiny Island Vodka supports this use of breadfruit to ease world hunger and fortify food security. They do this by donating portions of their proceeds to groups such as The Breadfruit Institute and Trees That Feed Foundation, who use forestation of breadfruit and education on its uses in needing regions of the worlds.

PASSION FRUIT PLEASER
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Mutiny Island Vodka
- 6 oz Lemonade (Simply Lemonade is a go to for us!)
- 1/2 oz Passion Fruit Syrup (We love this Liber & Co version)
- Ice
- Sugar (for rim of glass)
- Lemon Wedge to Garnish
Directions
Pour sugar on a small plate. Rub lemon wedge around rim of glass. Dip glass in sugar.
In a shaker add ice, vodka, lemonade, and passion fruit syrup. Shake, shake, shake!
Pour all contents into glass. Garnish with lemon wedge.
